The Cognition Tree Media and Publications brings you the Special featured Interview of “Chef that Inspires Chefs through KHAOOJIS KITCHEN – Surbhi Thakkar” which inspires you to join their group and showcase your culinary skills.
1. Can you say us something about yourself?
Hi, I am Surbhi Thakkar, a mother of 6 years old followed by a passion for Youtuber and Founder of a group called KHAOOJIS KITCHEN. This is a platform where we promote HOME CHEFS to come LIVE and showcase some of their culinary skills. I Love to Cook, Paint and LOVE TO RELAX!
2. While growing up, when did you develop the love of cooking in your life, and do you usually work In the kitchen for long to develop your cooking skills?
I was quiet Young, I guess around 8 years old, it was when I developed the inner zeal of cooking skills, not that it was my passion, but out of need, since my mom used to work, so I and my sister had to manage our evening bites. And later my mom was into the catering business too, so I guess it all started that way. Helping her and observing her.
3. After entering into the kitchen and planning what to make next, what is that one thing that motivates you to not leave the kitchen?
Haha, one thing that motivates me not to leave the kitchen is…WHAT TO COOK NEXT!
I keep wondering in the kitchen, sneaking through refrigerators, mostly to cook or else to decorate my Kitchen. So there is always new motivation!
4. If you were not a recipe developer today, then what might have been the plan B?
Oh! If I wasn’t a recipe developer, I would have been someone who would love to motivate all home chefs to come forward and cook and provide them a platform to come and cook. Which I am already doing, so it’s all around Cooking. Me in the Kitchen, or be me outside the Kitchen.
5. If you can share with us some of the weirdest food combinations that you may have stumbled upon that still made the food look appealing and taste delicious?
Ohh, I remember one sequence where, I just had one beetroot, some bread, and Farsan/Chewda. That’s it…Turned into something called Chat Bites. Rolled some Frasan inside a bread, rolled some beetroot inside another bread, made a big roll, and cut them to find these beautiful spiral bites. Dipped in chutney and was perfect.
6. Since we are in the state of a pan¬demic, we highly need to consider the health factors and plan ways to boost up our immunity, what are the foods that pack in a lot of vitamins, proteins, and iron? How can we amalgamate these powerhouses to make the food appealing?
It’s not only during this Pandemic that these factors have become more important, it’s always been important, but yes now people are realizing how these matters. I always believe in simple meals, and to include sprouts, green leafy vegetables to any dish will always look appealing you do not have to put plenty of effort if you know what wonders it can do to yourself. However, there is one thing I just do not appreciate is making Vege juices! It’s a big NO NO for me. Eg.Sprouts paratha, Spinach Paratha, Sprouts Chat, Palak chat.
7. Please share with us your nuggets of wisdom for all the young talented chefs who are endlessly preparing themselves to become one of the same versions as you in their near future.
I always believe and will keep believing. Cook SIMPLE meals, but always MEMORABLE Ones. My group motto also says! HAR COOK BEHTAREEN HOTA HAIN! I always tell people, Karna hain DIL se karo warna kyun karo! Pet bharne ke liye khana mat banavo, apna Maan bharne ne liye khana banao! Let those sparkles in your eye reflected in the dishes that you make don’t.overthink just go with the flow!
8. Who has been your inspirational chef?
My INSPIRATIONAL CHEF! This has to be and will always be MOMMY CHEF MANJULA JOSHI. MOMMY IN LAW CHEF NUTAN THAKKAR. Because till date I will dial them up first if I get stuck up somewhere between my burner and utensils!
